Worm to Eat

We received a package of Jjajangmyeon from a friend. It seemed unappetizing and looked like earthworms. I didn’t fancy the look of it at first, but it’s one of the most, if not the most, popular dish in Korea. It is basically a dish of noodles covered with a sauce of black bean paste, meat, and vegetables. It tastes amazingly great, despite of what it looks.

We wonder, how our 2.5 years old Y would react?

She saw it on our bowl, poked it a bit and dug right into it. She doesn’t even care if it looks like worm. Or was it just her knowing that it’s just noodle? Even after a while of mindful eating and I teased her by asking, “Doesn’t it look like worms?”

She answered lightly, “Worm? Mmmm... yum!”

I couldn’t not laugh outloud. She kept on eating as if it was the most delicious thing on earth. Needless to say, she likes it, worm-like noodle, Jjajangmyeon
