We have made meringue out of aquafaba before but never used it to make edible foams/bubbles before.

I let my daughter added the aquafaba from a can of strained chickpeas and 1/8 tsp cream of tartar (the trick to a better whip!) into a blender. I asked her what would happen? She answered “blend.” Little did she know of what’s coming. She pressed the blending button excitedly and let the magic happen. She was so excited to see how those aquafaba liquid slowly turned bubbly and soon shouted, “bubbles!”

She picked pink colour and added a few drops before blending it all thoroughly.

We transferred the bubbles into a big bowl and she began playing wholeheartedly accompanied by a wooden spoon and 3 regular bowls. The open ended play was imaginary, fun-filled and sensory.

She had blast of fun touching and playing with the bubbles.

Look at these!

She enjoyed scooping “ice cream” to each bowl as well.

So much fun!

She also made a handprint out of the bubbles (next post)
