Water Pouring Station

(Open Ended Play)

This invitation to play is really the best: cheap, easily available, long lasting to satisfy any kiddo.

Materials:

-folded funnel

-plastic bottle with lid

-measuring cup

-water in a bowl

Instruction:

-present the materials

-let your toddler explore

Y always excited to see these materials. Al lot of things she does with them:

-expanding/shrinking the silicon funnel

-unscrews/screws the bottle lid

-stands/throws lie the bottle

-adds/removes the funnel into/from the bottle’s mouth

-pours some water into the bottle through the funnel

Sometimes she pour water directly from the bowl into the funnel, the other time she pour water from bottle back to the bowl. Sometimes she is good at aiming, sometimes water might spill into the tray. No matter. Water play is an open ended play indeed.

Sometimes she counts each of the item: “one” to the measuring cup, “two” to the funnel, “three” to the bottle and “four” to the bowl. Y likes the bright colors of the funnel and measuring cup.

When she is about to finish, she would put everything in the bowl and the play is finally done.
