Veggie Boat on a Pesto Sea

Our family always eat with gusto. No kids meal. No fancy things. But sometimes, only a rare thing in this house, I prepared food with a theme. Just for fun on my part because my daughter usually just see food as it is, nothing more nothing less.
This was our lunch. I arranged the homemade pesto pasta as the open sea, lettuce leaf as our boat, balsamic bruschetta as the sail and carrot sticks as the mast of our sailing vessel. I served her meal first to see her reaction. Her reaction: “Mmm... delicious”
She said that before she even tasted it. She dug right in to eat, plain and simple just like an adult, no reaction whatsoever to the sailing adventure theme. Oh well, I have at least tried.
She noticed the sailing adventure though eventually after I brought my plate to the dining table (with similar plating). Then and only then she shouted “boat” while pointing my plate. It was soon followed by her mumbling the song of “row row row your boat” while finishing her plate. I think she was rather famished earlier after our outing the whole morning.
