(Art and craft)

Y loves hide and seek so much. “I’m a Unicorn” book by Mallory Loehr, which is illustrated by Joey Chou, has lots of unicorns playing hide and seek on its pages. This book is so adorable and absolutely stunning! Simple story with pretty illustrations. It gives us a feel of being calm, serene, and of course magical.

We read the book three times before playing hide and seek (as we always did) with lots of laughter around the house. I have prepared unicorn shaped cardboard while she was asleep this morning, but she could choose which 2 colors she’d like to paint with. She asked for blue and red. I let her mix our usual homemade paints recipe (flour, water and food colorings) and painted the unicorn.

I was surprised that she’s getting too good at painting that it finished way too soon.

She asked some more but I had no more unicorn cardboard. To luck we had the unicorn template that I drew firsthand on a paper. She had so much fun adding and splattering the paint using salad spinner for almost an eternity. I thought the paper couldn’t survive that much of spinning. Magically, it did.

So here’s her two unicorns for today’s fantasy.
