Lesson learned from so many craft we did together, our daughter is on a phase where independence is everything. She is realizing that she can assert herself, and arguing with me is one way she gain confidence. So as always I love to prepare two in a set. She always got herself interested in whatever big people do. No instruction needed. She would observe and do as she please. I do mine and she could do hers, or both while I sip my tea, if she prefer. Win-win, everyone happy.

This was our first snake craft. I was sure she didn’t know about snake before. Dilemma of a city girl. She said “S” when she saw the tray. “Well, the word snake begin with letter s, yes. These are snakes though,” I said. “Snake,” she repeated after me.

“Hiss, hiss, it’s a snake!” while I poked with my hand creeping towards her tummy. She giggled hard and danced around the room while saying “hiss, hiss, snake.” Precious.

We used her dried leaves collection for this craft. I cut the leaves into smaller strips with scissors while she was playing with one of the snake. She added glue and leaf on the snake effortlessly. She eventually finished my snake as well.

She was playing with those snakes without letting the glue dry.

Oh well, the craft has turned into another open ended play. I let her play until she finally done and we twisted the snake before showing the result to her dad.
