My daughter is so into her homemade cake and cookies these days. We had to bake every other day because she finished her homemade snacks so quick.
She wanted to make cookies today. I just realized that we ran out parchment paper so that some leftover dough needed to be transferred to the muffin cups. As you might know if following us, she insisted to call muffin as “cake” despite knowing what is which.

These cookies might be not the best looking one, but it taste heavenly and she was so proud because she made it all by herself. She used to love cookie cutter so much to cut any dough, but at 2 years 8 months she is not really like it at the moment so I let her shaped it as she’d like.

It was made out of 2 banana, 1 1/4 cup of flour and 1/4 tsp Lebkuchen spice mixture (can substitute with pumpkin spice or just cinnamon powder).

First thing first, she needed to mash the banana. “Press press press” she said excitedly.

Pouring, mixing and sprinkling are so much fun her. Perhaps the least was making sure that the batter has been mixed properly. Our trick to make mixing fun was by incorporating Dora the Explorer excitement. Do you know the chocolate episode where Dora was taught by her granny how to mix the chocolate batter. We chanted the same line “bate bate chocolate” while mixing and she was instantly so excited to mix it all up.

All mixed up, shaped into cookies or muffins and baked at 180 deg C for 30 minutes. Oh, she requested for hearts to be sprinkled on top. “Hearts sprinkle please,” she said. To luck she remembered to ask for it before they were sent to the oven.

Sometimes I can’t believe that my daughter is barely three yet she can cook her own cookie.

She finished all her cookies at once after it was done baking. If you see her hand, there’s a blue stroke on her right middle finger. It was leftover paint from
our previous art session.
