Many snake species kill the prey by wrapping their bodies around it. Luckily, this one is made of toilet roll and therefore it is completely harmless.

I saw paper roll snakes almost 2 months ago and hooked by it ever since. There has also been so many super amazing and creative T-paper rolls posts which make me feel daunted if not playing along (even just a tiny bit). We haven’t been using toilet paper at home for almost 2 years now, except for when there’s guest. Finally we got an empty T-roll yesterday to use for this project.

Materials:
-toilet roll
-paints on container
-straw
-an eye 3D sticker
-tape
-scissors
-silicone brush
-a tray

Instruction:
-ask your kiddo to paint the T-roll using paints and silicone brush
-With scissors, make a continuous slit around the roll, starting from the top edge and ending to the bottom edge.
-When finish cutting, the roll will be a coiled strip.
-With scissor, trim the pointed edge of the strip.
-Cut two triangles, one opposite the other, to shape the neck of the snake.
-stick the eye sticker on the snake’s face
-stick the snake on the straw using a tape
-ask your kiddo to decorate with more stickers and play freely with the coiled snake

I let our daughter to choose paint colors, eye stickers and tools to paint. She chose green and pink for colors, a heterochromia eyes (one purple eye and one blue eye) and lastly she picked the silicone brush. I set up a tray as art space where she can be free to experiment and get messy.

She enjoyed experiment with mixing colors and painting with silicone brush so much. I was rather nervous, what would I do if she asked for more T-roll. To luck that one and only T-roll was enough for her.

She painted it all around layer after layer.

I was pretty sure that the paint was so thick.

Once the paint was dried, I cut it diagonally into the roll cutting a spiral all the way round and then cut the shape of the head. Y put the sticker pretty much on its neck. We let the snake to roll around a rolling pin for a photoshoot. Y took it rightaway after we were done taking a few shots. Want to know what she did? She used it as a rolled on bracelet.
