(Craft)
This is a fun and simple handprint craft that makes a superb stormy day project. We sang You Are My Sunshine several times while making this craft.

When I asked Y “Do you what this is?”
She answered promptly “Flower!”
I could not hold my laugh while also correcting her softly by saying “It’s the sun.” She promptly shouted “sun,” grabbed the rope and began pulling it in the air just like a kite. It is a sun, as well as a flower and also a kite then!

Material:
-6 yellow and orange color handprints, ours were made out of construction paper
-1 yellow circle paper cut
-glue stick
-stapler
-goggly eyes
-tape
-pencil
-rope
Instruction:
-Use a pencil to trace a circle plate/bowl/lid onto a piece of yellow construction paper. This will be the inside circle of your sunshine.
-Cut out the circle around the line you traced (this can be done by an adult prior to craft time if you are working with small kiddo).
-Trace the child's hand onto yellow and orange construction paper and then cut them out. (The number of handprints you need depends on the size of the plate you used and the size of your kiddo's hands)

-Stack handprints in a circle and stick them together using a stapler

-Glue the yellow circle on top of handprints’ palm

-Draw a face on the yellow circle using pencil or using store bought goggly eyes if you like

-Secure end of a rope behind the sun
-Hang the artwork
