Our daughter has never had a haircut since she was born. We all loves her long hair. Naturally this Aaron’s Hair book by Robert Munsch is a dear to our heart. We don’t particularly own the book. We once borrowed it from the library and had a blast when having this book visiting our home.

The story of Aaron and his hair is so funny. The pictures are hilarious. We could make lots of facial expression and laugh till our sides ached during our reading aloud session.

When I know this week’s theme on #apopofculture is Robert Munsch, I know we should be joining in. The thing is, as always with our art and craft, nothing is quite certain with a toddler. This is our fun project together as mum and daughter.

I pre-made 2 sets of Aaron’s face. Why 2? So that I need not to give Y any instruction. I would do mine as she would have hers. She could do mine as well if she’d like but I won’t touch hers unless she ask for a help. That has been sort of our non-verbal agreement since we started doing art-craft projects.

So there were 2 papers that Y could choose to work on. She loves to be given a choice. She chose the yellow one while I did the honey color paper.

I transferred the paints on top of Aaron’s head, one blob, two, three, etc.

I then grabbed the straw and started blowing those blob of paints away to make Aaron’s fuzzy hair.

I know from the corner of her eyes she was following with her Aaron’s. I took picture of each step that I did but somehow hesitated to capture hers and gave her space to explore freely.

She preferred to transfer her paints using the teaspoon several time in between blowing with straw. Sometimes it goes layer on top of layer. And she used the straw like a brush a few times (see a long hair on her Aaron’s forehead?). Mine was somehow overly neat, typical logic-non-artsy adult’s creation. Her messiness on the other hand looked more real. I’m her mum, what can I say, I might as well biased. I honestly say like her Aaron’s hair (right picture) better than mine (left).

We both teased each other using those straws a lot when making these. We blew each other in between blowing the paints. So much laughter. So much fun. Thank you Aaron, thank you Robert Munsch. Here’s two Aaron’s Hair from us.
