(Open Ended Play)

We had a stroll earlier in the morning to collect some sticks and flowers. While she was busy arranging her flowers collection, I prepared a tray for the day: play dough satay skewer and some flour in a container to sprinkle, should she wanted it.

She was so excited when I presented the tray in front of her. I let her play freely. She played for almost half an hour. It was so much fun.

She sprinkled all the flour on the play dough, added more balls on the skewers, removed the dough from skewer, made a huge ball, and eventually poked the sticks into the dough.

She did lots of counting for the number of play dough balls, sticks, and each movement that she did during her play.

The most simple things can bring so much joy. Just present a play dough and some sticks, it would be an invitation that is hard to resist for young children to play to!

Oh, in between she flattened the dough, pulled it apart and arranged it in a way as if it was a chocolate ice cream, and offered a taste of the ice cream to me “Yum yum yum.”
