Sponge My Emotion

This is a great game with art as result to introduce about emotion to young children.

Materials:

-sponge as small as your toddler’s handgrip (we used only 1/4 of our original sponge, meaning it can last 4 times more)

-4 paint colors

-facial mood expression (laugh, cry, smile, angry)

-4 lids, turned upside down as paint color containers

-paper

-tray

Instructions:

-present the materials

-let your toddler explore

We were learning all about our feelings today. In order for Y explores and expresses her feelings freely we let her create an abstract painting based on emotions. I assigned an emotion based to each color and used sponges to mix and stamp the colors on her paper.
