Spider on the Web Sensory Tray

(Open ended play)

Do your kiddos love spider? Our daughter does. Thanks to Incy Wincy Spider song.

We made these spiders on the webs as hair clip for Y’s Halloween costume last year out ofpipe cleaners, buttons, a bit of thread and onion net bag.

They have been dormant since. Time to put them into a good use.

Materials:

-2 spiders on the webs

-dried beans

-spoon

-a tray

-muffin cups

Instruction:

-present the materials in front of your toddler

-let your toddler play freely

“Spider” she said when she saw them on her tray. I didn’t prepare any spoon on the tray and she took one from the kitchen on her own. She then began using the spoon to fill a muffin cup and then pretend to eat a super yummy food

“Yum yum yum”

She took both spiders and let them sat around the cup. I think she was inviting them to the party. She even let one of the spider to dip its mouth in the muffin. Ah, she was feeding the spider!

“Yummmmm”
