(Craft)

Y had lots of dried leaves collection from our morning stroll. We watched a documentary about sea turtle afterwards and it was followed by this craft.

Materials:

-turtle origami

-glue

-lots of leaves, cut into pieces

-a tray

Instruction:

-present the materials in front of your kiddo

-ask her to glue the leaf cut on the turtle’s back

I have prepared a turtle with glued leaf cuts on its back as an example for her. I like to prepare an example in advance so that I could skip part of telling her what to do. I believe that most people doesn’t want to be told, especially my daughter.

She was so happy to see the tray. She noticed right away what were laying on the tray. “Turtle!” she said excitedly. She picked up the finished turtle, noticed the leaf cuts and straight on dig into the craft.

She loves to glue things. It’s amazing still for me to observe how a few months ago this very same glue was a challenge for her. She could unscrew open the lid’s opening, turn it upside down and press the glue out without much difficulties.

She still not the biggest fans of glue’s stickiness while pressing the leaf down, but she didn’t let that nuisance bother her as much as it did few months back.

It was meant to be turtle craft just as it is, but eventually this particular tray has become an open ended play tray. She played those 2 turtles as if they were swimming in the ocean.

“Ready, set, go and swim!”
