This is not in any was endorsed or anything, but we are totally mindblown by a scissor here. There’s a pen scissor I found in a craft store that has brought magic in our house.

It began when she was about 1 year old. When she reached for the scissors, I have to admit, my heart skiped a beat and I really hope that she didn’t have an accident. Fortunately, our scissor has safety function and she left it since it failed to interest her further. Since then I hid scissors from her.
At 2 years 7 months old, she is still soooo curious with scissor. With so many art and craft we do on daily basis, I couldn’t possibly hid it from her. I’d rather introduce it safely under my supervision than if she sneak around and found one to play without me noticing.
I found that it’s important to not rush through the stages of scissors because I want to be sure she has appropriate coordination of the scissors and understands safety when it comes to using scissors.
This is the scissor we are using at the moment. It is easy to carry, easy to store and not occupy space.

It is easy to pull out open by little hands.

It has durable stainless steel blade. It has an automatic opening unit keeps the scissor open and easy to use.

Its sharp blade makes easy cutting.

She actually has really great fine motor control. No accident by far. She could exercise.

A bit of exasperation surely alright to give her a drive to learn but if it’s too much her mood can affect the whole house. This scissor has brought less frustration on her part. So it’s a lovely thing.

She won’t leave her tray before the paper edges has all been cut. Here is the look of her tray once she finally call scissor time a day (for now).
