(Open ended play)

Y had her time addicted to be read the whole set of Peppa Pig over and over again but these days she is so much into dancing and singing. Her most favorite song at the moment is “ABC” song. She repeatedly sang over and over from A to Z. Oh of course complete to the end part of “now I know my ABC, next time won’t you sing with me?”

We have Hape alphabet puzzle but decided to left it by my parent’s home last year, so I thought I could make a DIY alphabet puzzle mixed with sensory tray with what we have at home so that she can read the word while still being super active.

It was a big hit!

I underestimated her attention span. She sang and danced for the ‘ABC song’ non stop while searching for particular letter in the pool of oats and matching it with traced letters on the paper.

She matched 2-3 letters for maybe 1 minute, played with the oats for 5-10 minutes, returned to the alphabet and the whole process was on repeat.

The first day she played for around an hour.

I left the puzzle on her table but cleared up the oats and she matched the alphabet again the next day.

What a fun way to read and play the ABC!
