What is the relationship between Ramadan and new moon? The beginning of each new month in the Islamic calendar starts on the new moon. Ramadan is one of that month which starts on the new moon.

Anyway, this is a cool way to repurpose your toddler past art creation. We were repurposing the comb and sponge painting result that we did many days before.
Materials:
-blank paper
-at least a paper of painted art
-marker or pencil
-scissors
Instruction:
-draw a silhouette of moon and stars on a paper
-cut the silhouette off the paper to make a peek through “window”
-put the cut “window” paper on top of painted art paper
-present to your toddler
This is a quick craft on my part, since Y is still unable to cut with scissor properly. She was with me while I was cutting the silhouette. Depending your kiddo’s age and skill, you may as well ask them to do do drawing or/and cutting. If drawing is a challenge you could do what I did. To make it neat, I sketched a crescent moon and stars silhouette on a blank paper, cut it and traced it on another clean sheet of paper. Or even easier, print out a black and white crescent moon and stars silhouette to cut.
Y was enjoying the layering part so much. The fact that she could change the painted art behind and see different look for her crescent moon and stars through the “window” was what she was surprised with. She would mix and match to see what options she have as backgrounds. This is also a sensory play since the dried painting does have fine texture to feel to. The world of wonder through your little ones’ eyes is indeed so precious.
Ramadan Mubarak!
