(Art)

We saw a wall that was covered with handprints the other day. The shopping mall had it in celebration of Father’s Day in 2018. Families visiting were invited to be part of a project, immortalizing their time spent together in that art piece. Y was hooked. So we plan to make a similar project at home with rainbow color today.

Materials:

-7 rainbow color paints

-paper

Instruction:

-ask your toddler to brush his/her hand with paint to create the print

-ask your toddler to print his/her hand to the paper

-allow the paint to dry

We used a homemade flour paint recipe (available on our feed). We could directly make red, yellow, green, and blue paint. However, we needed to do some mixing for the orange, indigo and violet colors paint. Orange = red+yellow, indigo = blue + orange and violet = red+blue.

We failed the indigo color, but we did have fun mixing all those colors. We made more than we needed. It’s necessary when working with kiddo, since the play has already begun even from preparation time. With some messy time in the kitchen, of course. We still have enough paints for this project, to our luck.

I just needed to cue the word “handprint” and she’d get excited. Y really loves this activities until she knows it by heart.
