Orange Peel Turtle

My daughter had so much fun yesterday making crafts following story in the Little Puppy book. She did most in the morning, except for the turtle which was her post nap activity.

She was super excited to see there was more to it than just already-cut-by-mum’s turtle. She noticed two black circles and a dozen orange peels on her table.

She took an orange peel closer to her nose, smelling the heavenly scent before shouting “orange” word out loud with big grin of her. I just realized that it was quite a sensory play for her. I was preparing a bin of water (for her next play) when she arranged the black circles for its eyes and those peels. To luck I still manage to snap a bit of pictures of her placing orange peel shell.

She played with this turtle over and over again the whole afternoon-evening as matching game.

The orange peels dried and browned after a while though, so I concluded her turtle matching game after she was asleep and put those peels in a net bag as air freshener.
