Okra’s popularity has been growing in the past few years, and while it hasn't earned the status of an "it" vegetable yet like kale or cauliflower, it may still earn that moniker. If it does, you'll know it's really not an "it" vegetable. It's an "it" fruit.

Did you know that okra is great for stamping beautiful flowers? I haven’t try okra before until moved into the countries where we working and living in the past 6 years. Growing up, I didn’t even know its existence. I had no idea the hidden beauty of okra until saw local kids paint with okra‘s kitchen leftover and mud before I have kids of my own and it hooked me ever since.

Materials:

-okra

-paints

-papers

Instruction:

-cut the tops off of the okra

-let your kiddo stamp away and explore freely

Y immediately were so focused on stamping away. I had to head back to the kitchen for a top up paints since she finished the first round superly fast while she was scraping away her last drop of paints on the second paper. I was prepared for extra paper unfortunately didn’t quite prepared for extra paints.

When I got back with new containers of paints, her way of painting has already changed. She tried to experiment and use the okra like a paint brush.

I refreshed her paper to the third one and observed how she began to mix the paints, on the container, brushing both ends of okras up in the air, and of course on the paper.

She also painted her hand,

up to even her elbow,

made a handprint, before finally asked for “wash” to clean herself.
