(Open Ended Play)

Sensory tray has always been a popular thing for kiddo. The open-ended nature of the materials provides a toddler with unlimited possibilities.

Materials:

-oats (any kind available will do)

-a toy tractor

Instruction:

-present the materials to your toddler

-let your toddler explore freely

We are staying in a business hotel for 3 days and 2 nights. We brought a ziplock pouch of quick cooking oats for snacks and breakfast. On the second day and since we have enough oats, I thought of giving her another open ended play with an oat filled tray. She took the tractor out of the tray and began focosing on the oats. She spread the oats to cover the whole tray, brought in the tractor and then began to dig the oats using her bare hands and pour it to the tractor. Once the tractor is fully loaded with oats she would turn it upside down and wiggle any left over of oats from the tractor.

Next she explore new thing which was to glide the tractor forward and backward. She pushed and pull the dozer blade in the process and was extremely excited to see how the oats cleared up on the tractor’s path. She did it over and over again.
