This morning was totally so much fun. I gave my 2 years 7 months old a box with some few colored letters and told her to find anything in the park with the same color. I chose for her letters that were representing rainbow colors.

She shouted each of the color in the box to let us know which were present. She then hold the box dearly, as if it’s a treasure, around the park while me following in the back with another box for her collection (if any... well I can say now that surely there were lots of them). When she found the correct color with one her letter, she would lift the item up and shouted the color excitedly. There were so much red-orange color items in her collection.

She saw a flower in blue color, but it was still on the plants, so I said sorry that we can’t take it home. I only let her took those flower, leaves or petals that already have falllen the ground.
Once we’re home, I arranged those letters on rainbow sequence and she lined her collection with the matching letter’s color.

Of course, it didn’t end as craft. After we done take the picture, she used her collection eventually for an open ended sensory play.
