(Open ended play)
There’s nothing that can beat the fun a child have with free muddy play. We felt like a need to just play, an open ended play to be exact.
We have a chocolate ready-made play dough in the fridge that might needed to be discarded soon. I added the play dough, silicone muffin cups, and a glass of water on her tray.

She saw her tray, so excited and poured the water out of the glass jar. She was about to touch the play dough when she abruptly stopped, stood up and shouted “I know!” while pointing towards kitchen. When I asked what is it in the kitchen, she said “roll!” while heading to our kitchen and pick up her favorite tool for playing play dough: rolling pin.

She rolled the pin right away while saying “roll roll roll” on the play dough ball that has been swimming in super shallow water.

As more water being absorbed to the dough, its texture changed.

It was muddy all over the tray with some rather mushy dough left here and there. She loved these mushy leftover dough so much.

She mashed them with one side of the rolling pin as if it was a pestle.

Then finally she began to fill and pour the muffin cups to make muddy muffins.
