We made quite Humpty Dumpties with left over Kinder Joy eggshell today. I sang the song a few times at the beginning to remind her about Humpty Dumpty. She sang along the rhymes with me and re-enacted how ‘he had a great fall’ from the edge of her tray instead of the wall. How fast times goes by, I could still remember how she just listened to me while I lulled this song to her when she was small(er).

The construction paper we used is rather cheap and often time showed discoloration when we added water to it. I was counting on the discoloration to let her create rainbow color. From our previous experiment we knew that rainbow could be made with 3 primary colors: red, yellow and blue.

This activity is not only about simple stamping. At her 2 years 7 months old of age, she love to mix color. She had the most fun to describe all the color she dipped the egg to and made. Firstly she dipped the egg in “yellow” paint, then she transferred it to the “red” paint container, “oooooh” some “orange” color was created on the red paint container, went over to the “blue” paper and she got “purple” color along with other aforementioned colors. She was soooo busy naming all those colors, over and over again.

We did another tray while waiting those eggs’ painting to dry and then we glued some collage facial expression from cut out newspaper pages. She asked for another glue to use midway. Somehow she preferred the bottled school glue than her usual glue stick today.

“Hi, Humpty Dumpty!” she said once she was done.
