This is the way we brush our teeth

This is the way we brush our teeth
On a cold and frosty morning
That song has been a constant rhyme in our house every morning and especially in the evening to accompany our kiddo brush her teeth. Today, we’d make a toothbrush craft with this following project.
Materials:
-popsicle sticks
-2 cotton balls
-glitter glue paste in a tub
-2 white cotton buds sticks, cut into 6 small sticks
-glue
Instruction:
-laid out his/her real toothbrush
-ask your toddler to choose which popsicle sticks she’d like
-glue the popsicle stick into a paper
-glue cotton buds sticks into one end top of the popsicle stick
-glue cotton balls on top of the small cotton buds sticks
-ask your toddler to add glitter “tooth” paste on the cotton buds
-let your toddler explore
At the moment, Y has a red toothbrush and she made a copy of it using this craft session.
At 2 years 3 months of age, glueing is still quiet a challenge task for Y. The glue method we tried was dotting some glue onto the designated area on the paper. I applied the glue then gave her item pieces to stick on. I did a lot of demonstrating and she did stick the pieces on.
Toddler’s attention span is pretty short, so the key is to make it quick. Toddler also loves new things, that is why we provided more variety of items in small quantity.
She had a total fun to add her glitter “tooth” paste.
Once the craft was done, Y was a bit distracted. So I laid out her real toothbrush side by side with the crafted one. She took her time to get amazed while comparing the two. Y can’t hold herself not to brush her teeth though, to my luck she knew that the crafted one was meant to stay on the paper. Since we did this craft however, “brush” word has been a common one she speaks off on daily basis.
