This week’s theme on #scienceonsaturdays is about force and I knew right away that this is the right time for magic pepper experiment!

She was so thrilled to see rainbow festivity on her table and began to point while shouting which color were present: “red, orange, yellow, green, blue, gogo (indigo), purple!” She realized that there were 2 things different on the table: ground pepper and a container of soap.

Without any prompt, she picked up the ground pepper and sprinkled it into the bowl, such that it forms a thin layer on the surface of the water. Her face expression was precious. What not to love? Sprinkle is the best. Little did she know what kind of amazement that is about to occur.

I only give her a tiny bit instruction: “What do you think would happen if you dip your point finger in the soap and touch the pepper?”

Instead of being super expresive as she usualy does, she was sooooo silent. I was taking picture from above and thought she was a bit of in shock because of the magic. Then I saw her facial expression. Was she in shock? Nope! She was fully excited but just in silent mode! I bursted to laugh while observing her.
She loves that her action caused magic and begged to try the science experiment over and over again. To luck we used rainbow theme so she has seven bowls/plates to explore with.
