We love to do yoga at home especially the animal pose: cat, cow, bear, horse... but nothing beat the popularity of lion pose!

Lion Pose is useful to teach kids to identify and manage their emotions. By linking sound and movement through the yogic practice, kids yoga poses such as Lion, create the teaching of healthy anger outlets and helps to limit emotional outbursts.

Here is an image of a lion with his tongue out, depicting lion’s breath.

We do this quite often more as a puzzle to arrange these dried leafy hair surrounding the lion’s head.

After saying “we did it” she’d go to do the lion pose and then say “ROAR!” while sticking her tongue out.

LION POSE

1. Come to hands and knees on the mat to create a table position

2. Face soft to start

3. Draw hips back towards heels in a pre-pounce

4. Pounce forward on the mat, staying on hands and knees

5. “ROAR!” sticking tongue out and looking up towards ceiling
