I stumbled upon chocolate play dough recipe the other day. It was meant to be me kneading her play-dough for our weekend trip. I was already at the last part, “Knead on a floured surface.” My mistake was to use the tray that she usually play with. Only a minute into the kneading, Y has already by my side and asking “What’s that?”
“Play-dough for our trip tomorrow,” I said.
She excitedly sat in front of me. I knew it then, kneading time was soon to be over. I offered a small ball of the dough. She stood up, ran to the kitchen, opened its drawer and returned with a roller pin.
“Roll! Roll! Roll!”
She stood up again, this time to pick a Fisher Price star shape.
“Staaaaaar! Staaaaaaar! Staaaaaaaaar!”
Then I got the look. I knew she wanted the big chunks of dough, so I gave her. That’s the end of my kneading story.
Here is the chocolate play dough recipe.
Materials:
-1 cup flour
-1/4 cup salt
-1/4 cup cocoa
-3/4 cup water
-1 1/2 Tbsp vegetable oil
Instruction:
-Put all the ingredients in a large bowl.
-Mix well until a ball starts to form. Add additional flour if the mixture is too sticky.
-Knead on a floured surface.
Store in a container with a lid for a month. -Check for signs of spoilage before exploring. Add flour and knead briefly.
Note: The dough gets slightly sticky the more you play with it. Keep adding flour as needed.
