Lime Slice Water Play

(Open ended play)

It has been really hot these past few days that even Y refused to do any outdoor activity.

We had a whole bag of limes, so we used some for salad dressing and put the rest in this sensory bin.

Y immediately started squeezing lemons to make her own lime-lemonade.

She stopped periodically to count and play with the lime.

She picked and eventually grabbed a handful of limes from the water bin to be transferred into the glass. She did it all while counting. These are great hands-on ways to practice early math skills.

Look at this lime-lemonade, isn’t it so refreshing?
